Arranging a Funeral

The person who has legal authority to make funeral arrangements is the Executor – the person named in the will to administer the estate. However, the responsibility can be transferred by mutual agreement to a next of kin or family friend.

Registering the Death

To register a death, you must bring a medical certificate stating the cause of death to the Registrar of Births, Marriages and Deaths most convenient to you, within three months of the date on which the death occurred.
